NPOTechs: Run a LAP for Illinois Communities

| | | | |
11/17/2004 - 17:00

NPOTechs monthly meeting will take place Weds. November 17th at 7 pm, hosted at Korean American Community Services, 4300 N California Ave, Chicago, IL 60618.

This month we are doing something a little different.

Max Gail (of "Barney Miller" and now AFCN fame) will run a "LAP" with us at our next NPOTechs meeting. This event is open to all, and we encourage you to spread the word.

How we use language, and how we think about and express our vision for community, and the process of arriving at a community vision are all very important to Max. For that reason, I will refrain from putting words into his mouth.

WCN node construction party

| | |
10/17/2004 - 12:00
Shamelessly ripping off our handsomer brethren in Champaign-Urbana, the WCN project will host a node construction party at CNT (2125 W North Ave, Chicago) on Sunday, October 17, starting at 2pm. We'll probably go until 5pm or so. We'll provide post-brunch nourishment in the form of delicious Piece pizza. We have 20 Mark I kits from Metrix.net to build, and our set of tasks is: o Flash the storage with the CUWiN software; o Assemble the kits; o Crimp RJ-45 on some outdoor-rated Cat5 and plug into kits (not as easy as it sounds);
